This is a two-piece bronze-colored metal pin. A memento of the 1900 National Encampment at Chicago.
The pin bar at top reads, “ON THE RECORD OF FOUR YEARS / ABRA’M LINCOLN’S NAME APPEARS / GRANT AND LOGAN AND OUR TEARS / ILLINOIS – ILLINOIS.” Lower suspended piece is in the shape of the G.A.R. star with a silver color device applied featuring two equestrians and Lincoln. A brass spring pin is attached to the back. Also on the back reads, “THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT / THIS BADGE IS MADE FROM / CAPTURED CANNON” with a script signature. Measures approximately 2” wide x 2.75” long.
