Bar at top has pin on back. Front is inscribed "Aurora-Official" with GAR badge at center. Plain red, white and blue ribbon is suspended from top bar. Also from this bar hangs a large white metal plate with a building at center and inscribed "GAR Memorial Hall-Aurora, Ill." Below this are crossed sword, musket, cannon and anchor. Very bottom has medallion with profile of a veteran at center. Around edged is "J. Rosenbaum-Department Commander 1908." Reverse is inscribed "43rd Annual Encampment-Department of Illinois-GAR-Aurora May 18-20 1909." Joseph Rosenbaum served in the 31st Iowa from 1862-1865.
