This striking badge features a brooch of appropriate design for the 1916 period, a beautifully gilded and enameled drop, a stylized Kansas City relief drop, and an Elias Monfort (Grand Army of the Republic Commander-in-Chief) drop medallion. A yellow ribbon remains securely attached to the pin bar and shows only minor fraying along the bottom edge, very light surface dirt, and a slight perforation from the drop medal making repeated contact. A manufacturer’s mark reads “BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER, N. Y.” The piece measures 2” x 6.25” and would display brilliantly.
An excellent ribbon badge for the Grand Army or Civil War Veteran collector. [cm][ph:L]
