This attractive representative ribbon badge features the final style of brooch, suspending a gilded and enameled drop, a relief drop of Indianapolis, and a drop medal with a relief portrait of Benjamin Harrison – President, Union Veteran, member, and champion of the Grand Army of the Republic. Text on the reverse of the drop medallion reads “54th NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT G.A.R. SEPT. 19-25, 1920 INDIANAPOLIS IND.” A yellow ribbon is securely mounted to the ribbon bar and retains its original Whitehead and Hoag, though it is perforated along the attachment edge at the top of the tag on the reverse and shows some material loss along the bottom edge. Dimensions are 2” x 5.75”.
A nice example of a representative encampment badge, perfect for display among any Grand Army of the Republic or Civil War Veteran collection. [cm][ph:L]
