1915 RICHMOND U.C.V. REUNION MEDAL

The 1915 United Confederate Veterans (UCV) reunion medal was issued for the organization's 25th Annual National Reunion, which took place in Richmond, Virginia, from June 1–3, 1915.

This medal is two-piece bronze and features highly detailed imagery. The top hanger displays what appears to be the Virginia Memorial at Gettysburg with the caption "RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, 1915". Below the monument sits a circular seal depicting a historic tobacco warehouse on the James River, bordered by Richmond’s city motto: "SIC ITUR AD ASTRA" ("Thus do we reach the stars") and "RICHMOND, VA. FOUNDED BY WILLIAM BYRD". A spring pin is attached to the back of this top portion.

The pendant that is suspended from the hanger is a round medallion wrapped in a laurel leaf border. The top reads "25th ANNUAL REUNION, U.C.V." surrounding a profile bust of General Robert E. Lee superimposed over a painted Confederate flag.

The condition is very good overall with just a few scratches to the red paint on the flag at bottom. [jet][ph:L]
