Badge has a wide top bar with a very detailed and very pronounced engraving of the Confederate Institute at center. Above this is a ribbon inscribed with “CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL INSTITUTE.” Ribbon at the bottom of the engraving has “RICHMOND, VA.” in rather large letters. The back of this top bar has a pin. Suspended from this top bar is a red and white ribbon. This ribbon exhibits some light wear. Attached to this ribbon is a medal with Robert E. Lee standing at center in front of 5 flags. This is flanked by a laurel wreath and a ribbon that reads “42ND ANNUAL REUNION U.C.V.” At very bottom is enameled Battle Flag. This badge is in very good condition.
