"Tinnie" is the common term for a commemorative medal made from a non-precious metal such as zinc or tin (or even plastic) and with provisions for being attached to a garment and displayed while worn. The Nazi Government issued many different tinnies to commemorate various occasions.
Tin is shield shaped with a standing German peasant holding a large sheaf of wheat below a shinning sun with a swastika off to one side of the sky. The wording reads “LEUCHTE SCHEINE GOLDNE SONNE ÜBER DIESES FREIE LAND 1940/41” or “GOLDEN SUN SHINES OVER THIS CLEAR LAND 1940/41.”
Reverse has the original pin and some wording in raised letters “GAU KOBLENZ – TRIEP” or “DISTRICT OF KOBLENZ – TRIEP.” There is also a maker’s name. [ad] [ph:L]
