This lightweight twill service tunic has the standard four pleated pocket construction with scalloped flaps and French cuffs.
The uniform has been nicely tailored though there have been many repairs including on the collar and armpits on the interior. There is some light soiling and a snag hole on the lower right pocket. The collar tabs are original but have been reapplied by a previous owner. The shoulder boards are original to the tunic and are piped in the soft pink of the Panzer troops. The tunic front has an unusual and seldom seen snap arrangement which takes the place of the inner waist-cinch belt. All three snaps are complete but two have the caps have separated from the material and are stuck to their mate. The right breast has a hand embroidered bullion chest eagle however it is believed that this has been reapplied. There are loops for several awards on the left pocket and below it.
The interior is approx. a size 36L and is fully lined with dark, slightly olive-green rayon. The sleeves are lined with white rayon with gray pinstripes. The armpits do show damage from wear but the rest is in good condition with some scattered repairs. The inner left breast pocket holds a cloth label with the tailor’s name of “HOLTERS” and a location of “BERLIN.” There is also a slit for a dagger hanger at the top edge of the waist pocket on the left side.
