The jacket is made of dark blue wool with a four-button front, 2 pleated breast pockets and two plain lower pockets. Shoulders have button down epaulets. All buttons have the American Legion crest. Left shoulder has a beautifully embroidered New York State Seal while the collars have brass insignia for Post #1142. Each lower label has an embroidered American Legion crest. Jacket is in good condition with some minor scattered moth nips here and there. Interior has the proper lining in good condition. Left breast has a vertical pocket with a 1930’s/1940’s type label.
Matching trousers have a double gold bullion stripe with a blue center running down each leg. There are two back pockets, a four-button fly and a button closure at the waist.
With the uniform is a black “Sam Browne” belt in excellent condition. Jacket has brass hooks at the waist to help support the belt. This is another 1930’s/40’s type feature.
