Nice example of a mid-production SS Dagger by maker Robert Klaas of Solingen. The overall condition is Excellent Minus to Excellent. The nickel-silver fittings show minor surface wear on the reverse, though the scabbard tip (ball) does have a ding. The black ebony grip is quite nice on the obverse, with exceptional eagle and SS inserts. The reverse of the grip shows very minor surface wear. The scabbard is dent-free, but does have some paint loss (approximately 85% of the black enamel finish remains).
The blade is blemish-free with a deeply etched SS motto inscription. Some typical scabbard runner marks are evident on the blade. The reverse is etched with a RZM logo and the code "M7/37” and “1051/38 SS" for maker Robert Klaas. The dagger was made in 1938.
If you are looking for an original SS dagger at a reasonable price, this example is for you! [sk]
