An old label attached to this helmet says it was a gift from Col. G. B. Jarrett to the previous owner in 1938. It also mentions that the helmet was from Col. Jarrett's museum. The helmet has numerous shrapnel and bullet holes as well as a few major cracks and dents. One chin strip lug is missing as is one of the side lugs. There is no liner or liner band. It is very clean which shows it did not spend much time out in the elements. Having come from the Jarrett museum there is no doubt that the damage is the result of action.
