Unmarked Model 1910 Meat Can pouch in very nice condition. Khaki canvas is clean and free of any rips or tears. Flap is held closed by a single solid metal button on the front. Reverse has four brass loops for attaching to the Model 1910 haversack.
Inside is the is the Model 1910 meat can more commonly known as the mess kit. The handle of the kit is marked “U.S.” over “W.S. CO.” over “1918.” Lower body has 3 or 4 minor dings.
The pockets inside the pouch carry the eating utensils. The fork has a closed handle that is stamped “U.S.” The reverse of the handle is marked “WB” over “1917.” Stamped by hand in this area is “98 A 135.” The knife also has a closed handle “U.S.” on one side and “L.F.&C.” over “1917” on the other. Neither the knife or fork have the leather sheath. The spoon is also closed handled and is stamped with a “U.S.” while the reverse is stamped “W. ?” over “1918.”
A good complete set just missing the leather sheaths as mentioned above. [ad] [ph:m]
