Made of khaki web material this is the standard issue haversack as used in World War One. All of the straps and hardware are present.
Outer flap is stenciled with a strong “U.S.” in black ink. The back of the haversack has a single strap with snap hook at the center for attaching to the web belt. Inside top of the haversack is marked “L.ONG” over the date “10-18.”
The Model 1910 pack carrier is attached by a leather strap which is correct. Exterior is stamped with a good “U.S.” in black ink. Very top edge of the interior of the carrier is stamped “SIMMONS OCT 18.” There are also several other period numerical markings that look like a partial serial number.
Item is in good used condition. Pack is a little lighter in color than the carrier. [AD] [PH:L]
