Made of khaki web material this is the standard issue haversack as used in World War One. All of the straps and hardware are present.
Outer flap is stenciled with a strong “U.S.” in black ink and has the Model 1910 meat can pouch attached. This pouch is meant to carry the mess kit and eating utensils. Interior has one pocket each for the knife, fork and spoon. Pouch is unmarked and bears a name on the inside.
The back of the haversack has a single strap with snap hook at the center for attaching to the web belt. Top back of the haversack is marked “L.C.C.C. & CO.” over the date “8-18.”
The Model 1910 pack carrier is attached by a leather strap which is correct. Exterior is stamped with a strong “U.S.” in black ink and the number “582.” Interior of the carrier is stamped “P.B. & C.” OVER “3-18.” There are also the faint stamped initials of “C.B.T.” [AD] [PH:L]
