The Torn E.B. radio was developed by the German Wehrmacht during the 1930’s. It was designed to be transported on a soldier’s pack or vehicle to provide ground radio capability for frequencies covering 97 to 690 KHZ with a power supply 2 volt accumulator 90 volt battery.
Offered here is only the front control panel portion. It was purchased from a German seller over ten years ago. It still has the original data plate numbered 86741 with the date “38” (1938.) The panel is in excellent condition with original paint. Most of the knobs, information plates, and gauges are missing. It still has one frequency adjusting knob, grab bar, power plug receptor, speaker/headset cable receptors and antenna adapter.
This panel would make for an excellent display or restoration project. Priced similar as compared to the modern made resin Torn E. B. panels seen on auction sites, but this one is 100% World War Two original. [ad] [ph:L]
