Original WW2 German bayonet for “Karabiner 98K” Mauser bolt-action rifle. The bayonet comes with original scabbard and the original leather frog.
The frog is in great overall condition; the leather is soft and supple. All stitching and rivets are intact. Stamped "LAGES / DRESDEN / 1941" on back.
The bayonet is approximately 15” overall; the blade is 10" long. The blade has retained some of its original blue finish; the edge was sharpened and the very tip is chipped. Original bakelite grips are nice. The release button is in perfect working order.
Ricasso is sharply stamped with "ab44" on one side and serial number 9309 / f on the other. The scabbard has matching 9309 stamp at the throat. The Waffenamt stamps on the bayonet’s pommel are WaA313; scabbard’s tip is stamped as well but too small to read. Scabbard was painted a dark tan/olive drab color. [jet] [ph:L]
