Mid war Type 30 bayonet with the Kokura Army Arsenal marking.
The drawn bayonet is 20.00 inches long overall while the bright blade itself is 15.75 inches with a central fuller that is 12.00 inches in length. The blade surface is nice and very clean. True edge is free of nicks and has been sharpened. Overall, the blade is very pleasing to the eye. One side of the ricasso is marked with three interlocking circles for the Kokura Arsenal.
Iron guard is dark with a curled quillon and muzzle ring. Wood grips are held by two screws. Wood is in very nice condition. Bird head shaped pommel is dark and has a working locking mechanism.
Metal scabbard is free of dents and has a dark patina with some light surface rust and minor pitting. Scabbard has a ball type finial with an iron horizontal loop at throat for attaching to the frog. [ad][ph:L]
