This WW2 German officer’s sword and scabbard by Clemen and Jung rates near excellent for condition with bright lionhead pommel showing just the tiniest age stains, minty black leather grip with tight wire, and bright blade. The scabbard is excellent, with smooth surface, black finish, no dents or dings and with carrying ring, throat, and drag in place. The hilt is the standard reverse-P form with cast geometric and foliate decoration on the back strap, and sunken panels with geometric and floral motifs on the swelling knucklebow, and a globular quillon finial partially covered with a fan of leaves. The reverse quillon is blank. The obverse has Nazi eagle and swastika. The blade has the typical long ricasso, smooth bright metal and good and point. The gold on light blue strap portion of its sword knot / portepee is still wrapped around the guard. [sr][ph:L]
