Scrap book is in poor to fair condition but the insignia glued inside it are excellent.
The book itself meas. approx. 8.00 x 10.50 inches with manilla paper pages that have darkened and weakened with age. Several are torn and many have edge chipping. Spine is off of pages. However, all pages are still bound within the book and the 58 insignia are excellent.
The insignia are arranged four to a page. Many are of two-piece construction consisting of a felt background with a stamped metal rank device attached and some are of all woven construction. Some of the insignia are as follows:
Marine Coastal Artillery (woven, red on blue)
Marine Coastal Artillery (woven, yellow on black)
Motor Transport (woven, yellow on black)

Carpenter (two piece, brass anchor and compass on black)
Signals (woven)
Teletypist (two piece)
Clerical (two piece)
Blocking Weapons Mechanic (woven, yellow on black)
Artillery Mechanic (woven, yellow on black)
Ordnance (woven, yellow on black)

Engine Personnel (two piece)
Army Hauptgefreiter (woven, gold on field gray)
Army Obergefreiter (woven, gold on field gray)
Musician (woven)
Torpedo Control (woven, red on black)
This is just a sampling, there are many more. There is also a German Army officer of artillery shoulder strap as well as a large eagle and swastika cut from a canvas bag. Also inside the front cover are two newspaper articles by the famous WW2 news correspondent Ernie Pyle.
Also included are some Xerox copies of pages from a book showing some of the insignia being worn.
A nice representative collection. [ad/gr] [ph:L]
