Offered here is a fine Model 1918 canteen made by the Aluminum Company of America.

Aluminum canteen with aluminum cap and copper cap chain. Mold seam runs around the body. Marked “U.S. / ACA 1918” on back side. The front of the canteen features very nice “trench art”.

This art consists of a large German Iron Cross, over “USMC” and “1918”. Initials “MK” are also carved onto the front.

From the collection of the Marinos family who owned the Battlefield Military Museum in Gettysburg. [jet] [ph:L]
