The full title of this work is “MILITARY DICTIONARY; COMPRISING TECHNICAL DEFINITIONS; INFORMATION ON RAISING AND KEEPING TROOPS; ACTUAL SERVICE, INCLUDING MAKESHIFTS AND IMPROVISED MATERIAL; AND LAW, GOVERNMENT, REGULATION, AND ADNINISTRATION RELATING TO LAND FORCES” by Col. H. L. Scott, Inspector General, U.S.A. Reprinted by Fort Yuma Press of Denver, Colorado in 1984. Volume is #617 of 750 printed.

This hardbound volume is wrapped red cloth with beautifully embossed spread-winged eagle with panoply of flags on the covers, both front and back. Spine has title, author, and publisher in gold ink. Covers are in very good condition and are like new.

Volume meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 674 pages with several period advertisements in the rear. Volume has several black and white drawings, charts and tables.

Binding is excellent. Interior is clean.

Dean S. Thomas was known as a onetime Gettysburg Battlefield Guide and early relic hunter as well as the founder, owner, and operator of Thomas Publications. He was also the author of many books related to Civil War ammunition and projectiles.   [ad] [ph:L]
