Hardcover is bound in brown cloth with the title stamped in black ink on the front cover along with the Michigan State Seal. All is repeated on the spine. Covers are in excellent like new condition.

Volume meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 136 pages with detailed roster.

Binding is excellent and the interior is exceptionally clean.

The 5TH Michigan was organized in Detroit on August 28, 1861 and served with the 3rd and later, the 2nd Corps of the Army of the Potomac. They saw action in all the major campaigns of that army suffering heavily at Williamsburg, Fair Oaks, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg and Hatcher’s Run. [AD] [PH:L]
