Title page reads “MAJOR GENERAL AMBROSE E. BURNSIDE AND THE NINTH ARMY CORPS: A NARRATIVE OF CAMPAINS IN NORTH CAROLINA, MARYLAND, VIRGINIA, OHIO, KENTUCKEY, MISSISSIPPI AND TENNESSEE, DURING THE WAR FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE REPUBLIC” by Augustus Woodbury and published by Sidney S. Rider & Brothers of Providence, Rhode Island in 1867.

Hardcover is nicely bound in green cloth with the title and author in gold on the spine. Covers are plain with light wear along the edges otherwise they are in nice condition for their age.

Volume meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs approx. 554 pages with index.

Binding is excellent and the interior is clean though pages have yellowed with age. Text has eight black and white lithographs and eight maps.

As evidenced by the title the 9th Corps moved around a lot during the war so a good range of topics and theaters of war are covered in this book.   [AD] [PH:L]
