The full title of this volume is “1861-1865 THE THIRD NEW HAMPSHIRE AND ALL ABOUT IT” by Captain D. Eldredge and published by E. B. Stillings of Boston, Massachusetts in 1893.

Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 1054 pages with roster and index. The volume also has over 100 illustrations and numerous portraits and maps.

Blue cloth boards are in nice condition but do show wear such as surface dirt and rubbing. Front cover has the title in gold with stacked muskets and a 24th Corps badge flanked by two 10th Corps badges. Interior is very good though the page edges have yellowed with age. Binding is excellent.

The 3RD New Hampshire Infantry was organized on August 22, 1861. They served in both the 10th and 24th Corps seeing action in the long Siege of Charleston, Drewry’s Bluff, Petersburg, Bermuda Hundred, Reams Station, Deep Bottom, and Fort Fisher.  [AD] [PH:L]
