The full title of this volume is “HISTORY OF THE SIXTH NEW HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT IN THE WAR FOR THE UNION” by Captain Lyman Jackson and edited by Amos Hadley, PhD published by Republican Press Association of Concord, New Hampshire in 1891.

Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 630 pages with roster and index. The volume also has 12 portraits.

Brown cloth boards are in nice condition but do show only light wear. Interior is very good though the page edges have yellowed with age. Binding is excellent however endpapers are worn and the front and back signatures are taped. Page edges are stamped with a library name.

The 6th New Hampshire Infantry was organized on November 27, 1861. They served in both the 9th and for a short time, the 23rd Corps seeing action in Burnside’s North Carolina Expedition, 2nd Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Bethesda Church, Petersburg, Poplar Springs Church.  [AD] [PH:L]
