Original decorative blue cloth with gilt titled spine and cover, with gilt design on front cover. Light rubbing to edges and spine ends; gilt bright. Moderate scattered areas of dark staining; scattered pinpoints of color loss. Interior is clean and tight. All the folding maps are complete and without tears.
The author was a private in Co. A, a clerk in Adj. General's Department and at General Terry's Headquarters. A rather scarce regimental history. The 7th Connecticut Infantry is recognized as a FOX 300 Fighting Regiment. The regiment fought as skirmishers at Olustee, Florida and afterwards was soon transferred to Virginia, fighting at Drewry's Bluff, Bermuda Hundred, Deep Bottom, and Petersburg among other actions. The Seventh Connecticut also fought in the assault on Fort Fisher, and ended the war in North Carolina. [ld][ph:L]
