An original Civil War paper money artifact referred to as a $10.00 Confederate Treasury Note. Criswell-listed as a ‘Type 46" note with Ceres leaning on a cotton bale. Single-side printed paper bill is canceled with two X-pattern cancel cuts. The paper condition is good with some edge fraying and overall surface grime. Bill dated Sep 2, 1862 and numbered 39107. Printing on the face is in black ink with the reverse blank. [ra] [ph:L]
