An original piece of Confederate money, being the $50 CSA T-57 bill featuring Confederate President Jefferson Davis pictured in main vignette. Light green details under black print.
Dated April 6, 1863. Plate A. Printed serial number 9360 in red ink. Signed in brown ink. “SEPT’R, 1863” stamped in red. A large green graphic on back featuring geometric patterns, “THE CONFEDERATE STATES of AMERICA”, and “50” on each side. The printing is clear and the contrast very good. No pin holes, no wrinkling. Centered well, trimmed tight on right side.
A very nice Confederate 1863 bill. [jet][ph:L]

Material related to Civil War military Chaplains is extremely hard to find. This is a commercially produced “officer’s style” haversack with a great stencil in white on the reverse indicating its owner was the “Chaplain / 15th Regt’ / Vt.… (2025-1851). Learn More »
