Very nice piece of wartime sheet music titled “THE DYING SOLDIER OR THE MOON ROSE O’ER THE BATTLE PLAIN” composed for the piano forte published by “J. W. DAVIS & SONS, RICHMOND, VA.” Fine print at bottom states “ENTERED ACCORDING TO ACT OF CONGRESS IN THE YEAR 1864 … IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA…”

Meas. approx. 10.00 x 13.00 inches. Minor surface dirt otherwise the item is very good. Original owner’s name in period pencil at upper right corner.  [ad] [ph:L]
