Large preprinted muster roll filled out in period ink and dated May 22, 1865 for Patrick Fay of 149th Pennsylvania Infantry. Folded the document meas. approx. 5.50 x 10.50 inches and is titled “ONE MAN OF THE 149TH REGT. PENNA VOLS AT LINCOLN GENERAL HOSPITAL”
Open the document is large measuring approx. 40.00 x 10.50 inches. Document is in very nice condition.
Patrick Fay enlisted as a private in Company H, 149th Pennsylvania on September 28, 1863. He was wounded in the left thigh at the Wilderness and was sent to the hospital and returned to his regiment on October 21, 1864. He was mustered out on May 31, 1865. Since the muster out roll lists him in Lincoln General Hospital his wound must have bothered him enough to send him back to the hospital after his return to his regiment. [ad] [ph:L]
