March 20, 1900. 4pp. This document reports back the House, with approval, the details of Bill No. 5044 which proposed to set apart "6,000 acres in Spottsylvania County, VA., embracing the area on which were fought the great battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spottsylvania Courthouse, embracing also Maryes Heights, Hamiltons Crossing, Salem Church, and Laurel Grove, the Bloody Angle, Todds Tavern, the Po and Ny rivers." The land was available for purchase at $8 per acre…….a bargain, needless to say.  [ph:L]
