This order cites an order from Confederate General Lovell, and its acceptance by Gen. Butler’s Gulf Command. Text as follows:
‘All process from any court of law or Equity in the Parishes of Orleans and Jefferson, for the ejection of families for soldier now in the service of the Government, either or land or water, for rent past due, is hereby suspended, and no such collection shall be forced until further orders. By Command of Major-General Lovell.’
The above extract, fro orders of the rebel General Lovell, is accepted and ordered, as referring to the families of soldiers and sailors now in the service of the United States. By the command of /Major General Butler.” In protective sleeve. [jp][ph:L]
