Very nicely done chest up pastel portrait of a young, mustached, Union soldier wearing a dark blue forage cap and frock coat. The subject is posed in a straight on position allowing the viewer to easily look into his eyes.
Framed the item meas. approx. 19.50 x 23.50 inches. Frame is modern and in nice condition.
Reverse has a modern paper label that reads “PORTRAIT OBTAINED AT SYRACUSE NY ESTATE SALE. READS ON BACK 562A MRS. N. A. STEWART MCGRAW.”
Item shows some minor scattered surface dirt consistent with age and storage. [ad] [ph:L]
