Vol. VI – No. 271. 16 pp. [145-160], four columns, with numerous stories, illustrations, and cartoons. Front cover features full page portrait sketch of “Major-General Ulysses S. Grant, U.S.A., The Hero of Fort Donelson” [See Page 181]. Interior illustrations include “The Hand-to-Hand Fight Over Schwartz’s Battery at Fort Donelson [See Page 150]”. Also a map of Fort Donelson and vicinity, and a map and “Plan of the Battle of Mill Spring, Kentucky, Fought January 19, 1862.” As well as a full page “General View of the City of Nashville, Tennessee.”

Exhibits mounting dots & chipping along left margin. Minor yellowing and light soiling along edges throughout. Otherwise good condition. This March 8th issue is one of three [along with Mar. 1 & 15 issues] treating the Battle of Fort Donelson. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.   [ld] [ph:L]
