Front page features “Local Intelligence”, including news of Confederate Counterfeiting, fires, presentations of a Battle Flag to the King cutler Rangers. Also telegraphic intelligence, including new of Confederates advancing toward the Presidents Mansion in Washington, Kentucky Commissioner, East Tennessee Traitors, the Fifth Louisiana Regiment, Military Aeronautics.

Second page offers lengthy commentary on the war in the East in the form of a “Letter From Virginia” and a review of the Situation. Third page offers “River Intelligence” (the rise and fall of the river in various locations, from New Orleans to Memphis). Also a review of the markets (Cotton…Sales today 9 bales, Alcohol …50 bbls. Sold at $1.05 per gallon. Fourth page announces Steamboat arrivals and departures (though no further North than Memphis). Plus military units recruitment notices.
