This example has the correct 2 piece brass hilt which dates it as the earliest production. An untouched uncleaned example with a 24 inch blade. The blade has a light brown patina but shows little or no signs of pitting. The heavy brass hilt is unmolested and shows evidence of gilt. Inspectors initials "E.L". are manifest. These and variations of these swords were imported here during our Revolution. A great untouched example. [PE] [ph:L]
