Very bright and clean beautiful blade meas. approx. 28.00 inches long with several very tiny nicks on the edge. Ricasso is marked “MADE BY AMES MFG. CO, CHICOPEE…” the word “MASS.” is worn and not visible. The opposite side of the ricasso has “US” over “W.C. 1862.”
Hilt is all made of brass with a ribbed grip. Single knuckle bow with narrow counterguard ending in a quillon has a light patina to match the grip.
Reproduction leather scabbard has brass throat and drag and is in very good condition except for a minor repair just above the drag. Sword fits perfectly. [ad] [ph:L]
