This is the less often encountered .36 caliber Hazard cartridge in very nice condition. Cartridges were made by the Hazard Powder Company under Doremus & Budd’s patents #34,725 & #34,744 dated March 18 & 25, 1862.
The powder charge was molded by pressure into a cake which was glued to the bullet and waterproofed with collodion or shellac.
