A bullet mold for Colt’s 1860 Army Revolver. This model of Colt became a standard issue army sidearm and some 200,000 of were made from 1860 through 1873 for the military and civilian market. Exhibits dark patina & scratching. The two-line “Colt’s Patent” stamp on the top is clearly visible, as is the caliber and model designation on the side (“44H” for .44 caliber and (saddle holster). The sprue-cutter is in place and the hinge good. The screw slot shows a little roughness. The mold casts both a round and spherical ball. [JP/LD] [ph:L]
