This is an appendage for a rifle musket, called a wiper and it resembles a two-prong cork screw. In use this was screwed onto the threaded end of the ramrod and was used to remove cartridge paper and occasionally bullets from the barrel. This is a short style for a .54 or .58 caliber rifle, and is 0.82” long. Iron is clean.  [jet] [ph:L]
