Brass, two cavity bullet mold for the .28 caliber "Root" Colt revolver. It casts one round ball and one elongated bullet. Iron sprue cutter is attached to the top and is lightly marked "COLT'S / PATENT". Cavities remain clean and crisp. There are several small dings on exterior where the mold needed to be "tapped" to get the bullets out. Very good condition overall.
Comes with small spoon that was obtained with the mold and possibly used as lead ladle to cast bullets. Old spoon bowl with stem, well mounted into a turned wood handle. [jet] [ph:L]
