All metal surfaces are gray with multiple scattered spots of oxidation throughout.

Octagon barrel is .32 and is 6.00 inches long with an iron blade front sight. Top flat is strongly marked “L. W. POND WORCESTER MASS. PAT’D JULY 10, 1860.” Ejector is located under the barrel. Bore has good rifling and minor dirt. No signs of pitting.

Frame is iron. At bottom of left side is a spring release for lifting the barrel and loading the cylinder. Plain cylinder is six-shot. Action works properly. Cylinder indexes properly but is not tight at full-cock.

Walnut grips are excellent. Small screwdriver fitted into the underside of the butt is missing. Barrel, ejector and grip frame all bear serial number “890.” [ad][ph:m]
