This US shoulder belt plate was affixed to the front of the shoulder belt on the infantry cartridge box. It features the spread-winged eagle design. Brass face remains detailed with a nice dark patina. Complete lead fill on reverse with one iron loop remaining.
Stamped into the lead on the back is, “W.H. WILKINSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS.” and “T.J. SHEPARD” and “U.S.”
In very good “dug” condition. Recovered at Malvern Hill, Virginia. [jet][PH:L]
