Stereoview of the western face of Little Round Top, looking northward from below the summit. One monument is faintly visible at center, sitting on a boulder, which is the original 91st Pennsylvania monument erected in 1883. It was replaced by a much larger monument in 1889, and the original was moved slightly to the east and south and now serves as a memorial to General Weed and Lt. Hazlett who were mortally wounded nearby.
View on the left is darker with better contrast than that of the one on the right. Overall very good condition. Handwritten in period ink on reverse is “#239”, and in pencil, “View on Little Round Top.” Mumper & Co. stamp also present on reverse. [ld][ph:L]
