The most widely used Confederate fuse plugs were the copper time fuse adapters with two spanner holes in the head. These fuse adapters came in various lengths and head diameters. This long style was used in the elongated rifled projectiles. This fuse adapter features the large diameter hole running through and terminating with a very small hole at the bottom for case shot shells.

Measures 1.85” long. Nice green patina with some dirt.

This relic was once part of the Iva Rosensteel collection. Mrs. Rosensteel is the sister of George Rosensteel, who started the Electric Map museum in Gettysburg. Eventually, it became a part of the Rider collection in Gettysburg, which remained in the family until The Horse Soldier purchased the collection.    [jet][ph:L]
