Heavy glass paperweight shows an image of Thomas J. Berry as a young cadet at West Point. Berry went on to become a Lieutenant Colonel in the Confederate Army.
Paperweight measures 3” in diameter. No chips or cracks.
Thomas J. Berry was born on October 28, 1835. He was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., class of 1857. He served as a Lieutenant of Dragoons in the U.S. Military until 1861. He enlisted in the Confederate Army on 9/19/1861 as a Major. On 9/19/1861 he was commissioned into Field & Staff GA 60th Infantry. He was Retired on 1/3/1865. He was promoted to Lt. Col. 9/8/1862. As a soldier in the Southern army, he was wounded in seven battles. He passed away on October 16, 1865. [sl] [ph:JET]
