A small 2” x 3” book published by the American Tract Society in New York. Titled “HEAVENLY MANNA” or, A COLLECTION of PRAYERS AND PROMISES for EACH DAY IN THE YEAR. Undated. Pencil inscription inside the cover “Carried through the war by Wm. H. R. Fox”. Embossed cloth cover shows lots of wear. Center section has a few pages detached with pages 67/68 and 77/78 missing. Private William Fox enlisted on 9/13/1861 at Montgomery County, PA and mustered in on the same date to company C of the 51st PA Infantry. He mustered out on 7/27/1865 at Alexandria, VA. Fox was listed as wounded at Antietam, MD on 9/17/1862. [stp] [ph:L]
