A post-civil war black and gold metallic thread fancy sword knot. 16 ½” in length and 5/8” wide. The acorn shaped finial is alternating zig-zag black and gold decorated and 1 ½” long. The outsides of the knot have oxidized to a dark silver grey. The inside has retained a bright gold thread. A separate small sliding knot is in place. A higher-grade sword-knot fitting for an 1870-1900 sword. [stp] [ph:L]
