This non-excavated Federal belt plate is of the regulation 1839 pattern. Constructed in the die-struck and rolled brass method, the brass accoutrement’s face shows a clear “US”. There are no dings or dents on the edge. Lead filled back retains 100% of lead fill. No maker’s mark. This is the style with brass “arrow” hooks; all three hooks remain. 87mm x 56mm.
A nice belt plate with mellow patina. [jet][ph:L]
