Worn by the caisson driver to protect his inside leg from the tongue of the caisson. This bridle leather leg wrap is complete with all straps and steel plate. There are three straps (5/8” wide) with roller buckles along the leg. A fourth strap is missing. A single heel strap on the bottom is riveted in place. A steel plate (2 ¼” wide x 12 ¼” long) runs up the leg. All leather is stiff but is good condition, albeit with some surface mold. All stitching is tight and strong. No stampings visible. These are quite scarce and an exceptional example. [jet] [ph:L]
